Vintage 2010

Vintage 2010 experienced new record-breaking climatic extremes, both in winter rainfall and summer heat. A difficult growing season and harvest due to delayed ripening. Fine harvest weather.

Vinification

Well ripened fruit. Fermented without stems under controlled temperature, with frequent pisage and delestage. Aged for 12 months in French (80%), American (20%) oak barrels, and then blended to give balanced varietal fruit and oak complexity. Bottled, unfined and filtered.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of dark berry fruits with balsamic notes. Intense, solid, well structured palate with spicy fruits and a long, persistent finish. This wine will drink well in its youth but with structure to ensure bottle maturation.

Reviews

Fruit and barnyard flavors combine to give a wine that, while on the rustic side, still has an attractive juicy quality. It is full bodied; its acidity combines with a ripe plum flavor. - Wine Enthusiast

Medium-bodied, with dried olive notes to the berry and wild cherry flavors. Firm and juicy on the well-spiced finish. - Wine Spectator
