A year in the life of a winery blog

Aerials Cortes de Cima

12 months have flown by since we first started this winery blog, our voice direct to you from the Alentejo.  A whole year’s worth of talking about what goes on right here at the winery, written by the very folk who live and work here, tend the vineyards, grow the grapes, make the wine, put it in bottles, and send it off on it’s long trip to your dinner table.  We hope we haven’t bored you too much with our stories. We would like to send a special thanks to those of you who have left a comment on our blog, keep the good work up!  During this past year, we have also learnt the skills of twitter-ing, facebook-ing, youtube-ing, flickr-ing, and adegga-ing – all cyber arenas where we can all meet and share our common passion for wine!

As pioneers among Portuguese winery bloggers, we want to extend a warm welcome to those who have more recently taken the plunge – Quevedo, Churchills, Casa de Mouraz, and Quinta do Centro.  May that list continue to grow! Towards that aim, we are looking forward to participating in the II European Wine Bloggers Conference which will take place this year in Lisbon (of all places!) on Oct 30-Nov 1st- looking forward to meeting you there!

Congratulations on sticking with it! It’s not easy to write a blog (and do all the other social media stuff) while trying to grow, make and sell wine. Keep up the good work!

You sound as if you must know from your own experience! We are flat out keeping our website up to date, posting regular blogs, sending newsletters, answering emails, not to mention tweets and facebook updates! Thank god, along with growing grapes and making wine, it’s a lot of fun, and we love doing it!
