Homenagem a HCAndersen 2010 wins an Asian Trophy
“Cortes de Cima has long been one of Portugal’s most respected producers. This cuvée was originally launched for the bicentennial of the Danish storyteller, Hans Christian Andersen as Cortes de Cima was founded and is still owned by a Dane, Hans Kristian Jorgensen.
The land was purchased in 1988 with the first vineyards planted in 1991, and 1996 heralded the first release. Going against the grain and local DOC rules, Syrah was planted due to Jorgenson’s assertion that the variety would flourish in Alentejo’s climate. How right he has proved to be, as this is just the latest award for this 100% Syrah wine, which sits in the middle of their range underneath the flagship Incógnito.
Although wine production is at the core of Cortes de Cima’s estate, they also produce a delicious, much-decorated olive oil from Portugese Cobrançosa olives grown on their land.” – Decanter Asia Wine Awards

In 1988, a Danish-American couple set out in a sailboat to find a place to start a family, plant a vineyard, and make wine... and thus begins our story of Cortes de Cima Family Vineyards, one of Portugal`s leading wineries. Capturing the abundant Alentejan sunshine in the vineyard, our wines are packed full of rich, concentrated fruit, and balanced by soft, ripe, tannins.
