5th August was a record early harvest start at Cortes de Cima, with the first lot of Gouveio grapes arriving at the winery. Now 2 weeks on, we have picked batches of most of our other white wine varieties -Verdelho, Viognier, Antao Vaz, Alvarinho and Sauvignon Blanc.

Harvesting Olives at Cortes de Cima with hand held mechanical harvesters and a quad bike. Our olives are harvested early while still green, for better quality olive oil. Polyphenol content is higher in oils pressed from less ripe fruit, and free fatty acids are extremely low at 0,2% FFA.
