17+ pts -  Homenagem a Hans Christian Andersen 2012

"Smoky, sweet and spicy but still with lots of ripe dark fruit. Full and spicy in the mouth, the tannins fine and nicely dry, quite chewy on the finish even after several years in bottle." JH, Drink 2017 – 2024

17 pts -   Cortes de Cima Amphora 2015

"Complex fruit character that is both dark red and black. peppery and lightly floral. It's in the texture that it stands out - a lovely dry finesse with energy and freshness. A hint of smoke entwined in the fresh dark fruit. Delicious and so finely textured with a long aftertaste that is both fruity and mineral. Even with all this lovely fruit purity, the clay has had the effect of giving a dry, dark finesse to the wine as a whole, without any loss of the fruit." JH, Drink 2017 – 2020

17 pts -   Cortes de Cima Aragonez 2014

"Sweetly red-fruited with a touch of vanilla that I often find on Aragonez/Tempranillo, whatever sort of oak it has been aged in. But this is balanced by an attractive, light dusty quality. Absolutely delicious, rich in fruit and finely fresh. The texture is silky soft but there's enough structure still for it to be a good and versatile food wine. Just at the perfect point for drinking but no hurry. The oak is present but well in the background, as seasoning should be. "JH, Drink 2017 – 2024

17 pts -  Cortes de Cima Touriga Nacional 2014

"Lovely classic Touriga aroma of scented dark fruit with a hint of violets and bergamot but mostly sweetly spiced blueberry and mulberry. Tastes more mature on the palate with a touch of something more savoury and lots of spice. Tannins are smooth and still quite thick though rounded. Excellent balance and greater complexity to come." JH, Drink 2017 – 2023

16.5 pts - Cortes de Cima Branco 2016

"Lovely fragrance with the Viognier adding a peachy note to the lively citrus and there's just a hint of creamy oak influence. Deep with fruit and an excellent harmony between those crisp fruit flavours and the riper, rounded quality from the Viognier and barrel ageing. A slight mineral/saline quality adds length on the finish." JH, Drink 2017 – 2020

16.5 pts - Cortes de Cima Tinto 2013

"Sweetly oaky but not over-oaked red and black fruit and a light seasoning of spice. Finely dry texture, elegant. Very good freshness and length."JH, Drink 2016 – 2020

16.5 pts - Cortes de Cima Pinot Noir 2015

"Unexpectedly complex aroma that still has plenty red fruit but also a more savoury character and a light spice. It's fresh and finely textured with bright acidity and clearly cool-climate fruit. Unexpectedly refined and no unwanted sweetness even with the pretty red fruit on the aftertaste. Not sure it will age for a long time but it is very nice now - quite a revelation. I might easily have put this in Burgundy if I had been given it blind."JH, Drink 2017 – 2020

16.5 pts - Cortes de Cima Syrah 2014

"Smells very pure, more blackberry and black cherry than cassis. Rich and plush on the palate, full of vibrant and youthful fruit and hardly seems to have aged except in the smoothing of the tannins. Has lovely freshness to balance the depth of fruit flavour and a peppery aftertaste that is pure Syrah." JH, Drink 2017 – 2021

16.5 pts - Cortes de Cima Petit Verdot 2012

"Highly perfumed with Petit Verdot violet-scented dark fruit but also some sweet oak spice and vanilla. Big and rich in the mouth, still quite chewy though there is plenty of scented dark fruit to fill out the structure. an intense yet balanced wine."JH, Drink 2017 – 2022

16 pts - Cortes de Cima Sauvignon Blanc 2016

"Bright aromas of citrus and green fruits and just very slightly smoky. A little more herbal on the palate, super-crisp and refreshing with moderate intensity. Just a bit dilute on the finish - but a lovely style that is fresh and restrained without any of the potential excesses of Sauvignon Blanc."JH, Drink 2017 – 2019

16 pts - Cortes de Cima Alvarinho 2016

"Invitingly fresh fruit aromas that stone fruit and ripe citrus with a light chalky character on the nose. On the palate, crisp but full of lively citrus and stone fruit flavours. Moderate intensity. Tight and mouth-watering on the finish."JH, Drink 2017 – 2018

16 pts - Cortes de Cima Rosé 2016

"Almost more orange than pink, with a gleaming brightness. Smoky, savoury and really rather interesting. There is fruit - Victoria plum and almost something a bit like orange - but that is not its defining feature, though I suppose it might have been a year ago. There's some spice too and light but very nicely managed tannins. The firm structure suggests it would be good at the table but it still has the fruit and harmony to be drunk on its own." JH, Drink 2016 – 2018
