Juicy, deliciously ready to drink, a fun wine at a great value. Bottled early. No oak. Mainly Aragonez and Syrah, blended with other Portuguese varieties.
An exceptionally early and compressed harvest, resulting from one of the hottest and driest years in decades.
The grapes were grown on the ancient clay over limestone soils surrounding the estate near Vidigueira. Each parcel was harvested separately according to ripeness. The fruit was destemmed and gently crushed, following fermentation under temperature control for 2 weeks in stainless steel tanks, with gentle punchdowns, pumpovers and delestage. Aged in tank on fine lees. The wine was blended and bottled at the estate on May 2018.
Intense, fresh red berry aromas. Vibrant fruit with a nice fresh acidity.

“Bright currant, raspberry and herb notes fill this lively, fresh red, with light tannins framing the white pepper, fresh earth and mineral flavors on the finish” Gillian Sciaretta, Wine Spectator, June 2019
