Herbaceous crispness with a final burst of acidity. A blend of Portuguese and international varieties.
An exceptionally early and compressed harvest, resulting from one of the hottest and driest years in decades.
A blend of local and international varieties from our cool Alentejan Atlantic coastal vineyards (Verdelho, Alvarinho, Sauvignon Blanc) and interior (Viognier). Harvested during the cool hours of the early morning, the grapes were destemmed and pressed, followed by settling at low temperatures for 24 hours. Fermented at controlled temperatures in tanks for 15 days and matured on fine lees, with regular stirring. Fined, filtered and bottled to maintain its clean, crisp flavours.
Our Winemakers Comments
Lively citric fruit aromas of grapefruit and lime. A vibrant palate, crisp with a tight acidity, to a persistent finish.
"It is ultimately very fine. With some personality from the blend—the Sauv Blanc has a strong impact here—as well as solidity in mid-palate, this perky white punches far above its weight this year. It is usually a bargain. It might be an even better one this year. Freshness is what it is all about."- Mark Squires, The Wine Advocate, Jun 2018
“A steely white, with an herb-tinged edge to the lemon zest and peach fruit flavors. Hints of green tea, mineral and spice mark the moderate finish.“ Gillian Sciaretta, Wine Spectator, Aug. 2018
