Our flagship wine. Full bodied blend of Aragonez, Syrah and other Portuguese varieties.
A dry winter, followed by a cold and wet spring. A moderate summer, which heated up in August. A delayed growing season, with late flowering, ripening and a large harvest. High Acids, ripe tannins.
Well ripened fruit. Fermented without stems under controlled temperature, with frequent pisage and delestage. Aged for 12 months in French (70%), American (30%) oak barrels, and then blended to give balanced varietal fruit and oak complexity. Bottled, unfined and filtered.
Spicy aromatics, with a firm palate of intense fruit and a long, persistent finish.
"This has a polished feel to the glazed black cherry, baking spice and floral aromas, with underpinnings of anise and tangy zest yielding to moderate tannins on the mineral-tinged finish." - Gillian Sciaretta/ Web Only - 2018
