The top of the range, made only in exceptional years. Complex layers of fruit, long on the palate with solid tannins.
Harvest 2012, our 17th harvest. A record cold and dry winter, followed by a cold and wet spring. Superlative summer. All in all, a quality driven vintage!
A selection of the best parcels in the best years, our Reserva is only produced in our best vintages. A blend of Aragonez, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Petit Verdot and Alicante Bouschet grown sustainably on the ancient clay over limestone soils in own vineyards surrounding our estate in Vidigueira.
Each parcel was harvested separately according to ripeness. The fruit was destemmed and gently crushed, following fermentation under temperature control for 2 weeks in stainless steel tanks, with gentle punchdowns, pumpovers and delestage. Each parcel matured separately in french oak for 14 months. After which a selection of the best barrels were blended and the wine was bottled at the estate in April 2014.

“rich and concentrated … a fine wine” – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, Dec 2017
"a very graceful Reserva, fresh, lifted and sophisticated. The mid-palate finesse is exceptional, giving this a very refined feel. For all of its elegance, the structure allows it to have grip on the finish. The lifted fruit lingers nicely, laced with a touch of beef, blueberries and herbs. It finishes dry and seriously. This is a Reserva that has a certain understatement to it. It is also one of those elegant wines that will drain quickly at the table. Then, you'll realize how much you liked it. “ – Mark Squires, The Wine Advocate, Dec 2017, Issue 234 – Robert Parker
