Cortes de Cima Sauvignon Blanc

A 100% Sauvignon Blanc produced exclusively from grapes grown at our new coastal vineyards near Vila Nova de Milfontes on the Alentejan coast, 3 km from the Atlantic Ocean.

Vintage 2015

Characterized by very favorable growing season conditions and led to one of the best vintages in recent years. Cold and dry winter, warm and dry summer, free of heat waves, dry September.

Vinification

Made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, grown sustainably on the Alentejan west coast, 3 km from the Atlantic Ocean. Harvested during the cool hours of the early morning, the grapes were destemmed and pressed, followed by settling at low temperatures for 24 hours. Fermented at controlled temperatures in tanks for 15 days and matured on fine lees, with regular stirring. Fined, filtered and bottled to maintain its clean, crisp flavours.

Reviews

"This was sourced from the winery’s relatively new coastal vineyards (three kilometers from the sea). The winery’s quest to make fine Sauvignon continues this year and there isn’t much to complain about these days. Showing fine solidity for the grape and style, this is aromatically restrained in herbaceous nuances, with a little bit of that vegetal nuance on the palate. There is a crisp finish, but it is viscous enough to feel substantial. It’s well worth a look."  90 points – Mark Squires, eRobertParker.com

“This wine from vineyard close to the Atlantic coast is crisp, herbal and already refreshing. It has a touch of spice along with crisp lemon and warmer pear fruits. Tangy and juicy, it has a fresh, almost salty aftertaste. “ 90 points Editors Choice -  Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

“Very creditable straightforward Sauvignon aromas that rather remind me of some of the best Chilean Sauvignons made within sight of the Pacific. Mouthfilling and very wellbalanced. Pure green varietal dry Sauvignon fruit. Super zesty. Perhaps not recognisably Portuguese but a good wine. This vineyad (which presumably produced the Pinot) seems promising!” 16,5 points  - Jancis Robinson
