Cortes de Cima Trincadeira

One of the more common indigenous varieties in Southern Portugal, characterized by fruit, and mellow tannins.

Vintage 2015

Characterized by very favorable growing season conditions and led to one of the best vintages in recent years. Cold and dry winter, warm and dry summer, free of heat waves, dry September.

Vinification

Made exclusively from selected Trincadeira grapes hand picked at optimum maturity from chosen sites in our own vineyards. Fermented without stems under temperature control, frequent delestage, to enhance varietal fruit characters, and to provide tannin structure and balance. Aged for 8 months in French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels.

Reviews

"A generous fruity wine with ripe tannins, this is fruity and ready to drink. It has a fine juicy character, including red-berry and perfumed damson flavors. The wine is rich, smoothly textured with a flourish of acidity at the end." - Oct/2018 - ROGER VOSS - Wine Enthusiast
